1. They make a work to-do list the day before. I make mine in the morning about half of the time. I love lists!
2. They get a full night's rest. I function best on 8+ hours. 9 hours is a beautiful thing for me :)
3. They avoid hitting snooze. This past week I was horrible at this. In my defense, I did have some late nights.
4. They exercise. 6 - 9 miles a week, baby!
5. They practice a morning ritual. Get up, grumble, schlep to work, respond to overnight emails, and eat some fruit while blog surfing.
6. They eat breakfast. See above! Usually either raw oatmeal or fruit and peanut butter with chia seeds.
7. They arrive at the office on time. Most of the time.
8. They check in with their boss and/or employees. Yep.
9. They tackle the big projects first. Not always.
10. They avoid morning meetings. I like morning meetings. I think that it gives me the day to sort out the problems that come up in the meetings. I also like just getting stuff outta the way.
11. They allot time for following up on messages. I usually respond to email when it comes it. Not the most time efficient, but on slow days it's easy to do. Otherwise I flag it (in Outlook) or star it (in Gmail) for later.
12. They take a mid-morning break. See 5 :) Love me-time!
How do you fair on this list? Do you consider yourself a "killer employee"?
