How to Turn Down a Job Offer

Through the hunt for my career in shining armor, I've had to kiss-and-ditch a few frogs. Some opportunities, albeit well intentioned, just haven't been a good fit.

So how do you break-up with a job opportunity?

Communicate to the employer the same way they communicated the offer to you. If they called or offered you the job on the spot, allow yourself time to review the offer and at least give them a call. A voice-to-voice "no thanks" is the least you can do. Likewise, if they offered you the job via text (yes, this has happened to me) you are certainly allowed to turn them down (and I hope you would) via text. An eye for an eye; an email for an email.
