Flip-It Friday: Brevity

My other blog, Addressing the Corner, was born out of a debate I had with my high school creative writing teacher. "If you aren't going to write so that people can understand (and want to read), then why not go write yourself to death in a corner?!" He said.

Being able to let go of words that don't further your message is tough, but should be an active part of writing.


Do you think that in a world of micro-bloggers that we are losing the art of words? Or is condensing our points into 140 poignant characters making us more effective communicators? Does it hinder or refine art?

I got in a debate with my father-in-law about this over Christmas.
