Where was I? Oh yes...
1) Flowers. Cliche? Everyone likes 'em.
2) Buy them their favorite coffee beverage and write a love note on the side (make sure the baristas leave room after putting a huge L for "latte" and N for "non-fat".
3) In the words of Adam Sandler you could "even let [them] hold the remote control."
C'mon. Don't make them watch the NCIS marathon with you.
4) Know their least favorite household chore and do it for them.
5) Swipe a pair of their well-loved shoes and have them shined/buffed (or DIY) in a 24 hour turn around to avoid "honey, have you see my XYZ pair of shoes?"
6) Write an encouraging message on the bathroom mirror in dry erase marker.
7) Show up at their work (preferably when you know they aren't swamped) just to say hi or meet them at the end of the day outside their car/train stop to walk/ride with them home.
8) Draw them a bath and tell them that you'll screen all their calls. Extra points for bath salts, candles, angelic waterfall flute music, etc.
9) Build a living room fort and play checkers/cards/music around a tea party. Tea party for the girls, fort for
10) When their eyes are too tired to read, read their current novel aloud to them. (Or if they're like me, let them read to you!)
