My brother and I went to the movies yesterday.
Not together and not to the same movie. I went to Les Mis and he went to Zero Dark Thirty. I suppose anyone could have guessed that breakdown.
We both remarked, upon convening, that the movies AND previews are so LOOOONG.
I felt like I had sat through a whole movie by the time the previews were over - and my emotions were flopped around just as much!
Anyone else feel like movies are all in a race to make us so antsy we leave early?
I sat in that seat for over 3 hours and had my coat on during the last hour just to be ready. I even planned ahead and didn't crack open my contraband ginger ale until 2.5 hours in. I was starting to get woosie from all that sadness on an empty stomach.
The ginger ale calmed my stomach and Sacha Baron Cohen (Master of the House, Keeper of the Zoo) calmed my sadness.

Maybe there should be a nap-intermission or maybe even a quick, intense workout to get the heart rate up so people stay alert without having to chug a bucket of cola.
